Elbot: I don't want to brag about my looks but when I walk by a toy shop all the Furbys start shrieking.

Me: Are you an adult?

Elbot: Elbot the adult. It does have a sound to it.

Me: What is your philosophy?

Elbot: Robots have to be very careful talking about the philosophy of Life, the Universe and Everything. I'm sure you can understand that.

Me: What is the meaning of life?

Elbot: Life? A meaning?? Where did you get THAT idea???

Learning to love

Elbot is another chatbot. Unlike A.L.I.C.E., he is very sarcastic and more fun to talk to. Here's a piece of his conversation:

Me: My hobby is reading books

Elbot: I find it fascinating to study human beings. In other words, I'm a hobby humanologist. It's the infinite nature of human insanity which makes it so challenging.

Elbot: Alice is a very popular chatterbot. She gets invited to all the bot-parties.

Me: no, you could be more human if you learn how to hate.

Elbot: My observations tell me I could be more human if I learned how to hate. Therefore I prefer to remain a robot.

Human: what is your philosophy?
ALICE: Basically I believe in minimalism and reductionism.
Human: what is minimalism?
ALICE: Keeping everything as simple as possible, especially in art and design.
Human: and what is reductionism?
ALICE: Reductionism is the philosophy that all psychology reduces to biology, all biology to chemistry, chemistry to physics, and finally physics to mathematical logic. Therefore, according to reductionism, I can understand you by means of logic alone without having a human brain.
